A number of individuals complain about the short life of CFL they have bought and install hoping to get their money’s worth.
A compact fluorescent lamp (CFL), also known as a compact fluorescent light or energy saving light (or less commonly as a compact fluorescent tube [CFT]), is a type of fluorescent lamp.
Many CFLs are designed to replace an incandescent lamp and can fit into most existing light fixtures formerly used for incandescent. It seem as if with the trust to sell 100 million CFl in 2007 has some how cause inferior bulbs to enter the market. Many purchasers of these bulbs were of the opinion that they should last at least 3000 hours but many say they did not get as much as 1000 hours before the bulbs burnt out.
Some technicians say they burn out according to how often they are switched on and off ,for example it is said that constant switching like a bathroom fixture will shorten the life of the bulb.
One consumer said he has been using CFL’s for three years now and have only one complaint ,that is in a bathroom setting they need to be combined with regular light bulbs due to the warm up time of the cfl
