Light and design elements
When planning on brightening the home the first thing come to mind is using colour or light but this takes in more than that .All elements of design should be considered. Some of these basic elements area such as lighting and what effect will it have on them whether it is northern or southern , eastern or wastern light.

Colour
is the result of breaking down white light into a single colour element by using a glass prism. These colour elements are red, orange, yellow green ,indigo, blue violet or what is called colours of the
rain bow. Colour has effect on the body even though many are unaware, it also stand for symbolism and meaning.
Shape
Is an area enclosed in a line must be taking into the design factor .A shape can be abstract it does not need to look like an identifiable object but can be made attractive by adding colour and texture.
Pattern
This is create when a group of related shapes lines or marks is united together.Pattern can be natural , man made and applied Pattern
Lines
May be seen as a path traced by a moving point or dot or can be simple as a mark made by a pointed tool. Every lines has thickness ,direction and rhythm created with regular or irregular lines. Line is capable of suggestion and conveys all types of moods and feelings
Texture
This is referred to as surface quality and can be a rough as rock ,smooth as silk to experience one must be able to have experience touch
Form
This is a shape that either looks 3 dimensional (3D) or is 3S. This usually associated with sculture . architecture and may be associate with the natural landscape.form though is expected to regular and balanced is best think of as formless.
Space
This describes the distance between people, places and objects .Space bring into the arena, scale and environment.
